Ferragamo’s SS25: Ballet Meets Bold Moves

Salvatore Ferragamo launched the ballet flat back in 1954, and it quickly became a Hollywood favorite. Ferragamo is bringing the drama for SS25, and we’re here for it. Maximilian Davis, the 29 year old designer shaking things up at the iconic fashion house, is diving deep into Ferragamo’s ballet history, think of custom ballerina shoes for Rudolf Nureyev and moments with legendary dancer Katherine Dunham. Yeah, Ferragamo has serious dance credentials.

"At Ferragamo, I've sought out similarities - and the beauty of this brand is that there are so many different stories you can relate to. Every shoe has a meaning behind it. Every shoe has a story."

Said Davis.

Here’s what you need to know:

Throwback inspo? Davis tapped into Ferragamo’s ballet past, mixing in his Caribbean roots, London club energy, and personal flair.

Ballet vibes? Form fitting cashmere, silk, nylon, and suede opera coats, all tied up and twisted like a dancer’s practice uniform.

Sequins? Yep, but with a fresh twist resin finishes making them feel totally now.

Big fits, big mood. Nureyev’s iconic oversized pieces meet Dunham’s mid-century aesthetics, giving the collection a vintage but modern fusion.

Caribbean cool. Frayed denim and rubber jelly moccasins brought the edge, breaking away from the clean lines but keeping things cohesive with Ferragamo’s classic leather touches.
