For Ferragamo’s Spring/Summer 2026 collection, Maximilian Davis turns to the 1920s, revisiting the decade’s eclecticism through his meticulous lens while honoring the era when the house itself was founded. Inspired by a 1925 archive image of silent screen star Lola Todd draped in leopard, Davis explores the exotic textures and prints emblematic of the jazz age’s “Africana” movement, distilling them into silk satin devoré animal motifs, plongé leather jewellery, and fringed embellishments. The liberated elegance of the period is evoked in speakeasy tailoring, lace-inset slips, and dropped-waist dresses that celebrate the new femininity women carved for themselves, reclaiming freedom and rebelling against convention. Menswear draws from the exuberant spirit of Harlem Renaissance zoot suits and dandyism, with ties reimagined as scarf sashes cinching tuxedo waists or spliced into patchwork dresses, refiguring the Roaring Twenties with contemporary poise.
